Mike Smith rookie season

edit

An Elias article said he was a rookie when playing in a game on March 15, 2008. How can that be possible? Smith made his NHL debut in October 2006 and played in over 20 games for the Dallas Stars during the 2006-07 season. That appears to be his rookie year, not the 2007-08 season as the article states.

I corrected the article accordingly.- William 19:35, 15 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

I reverted your deletion. The label of rookie is not as cut and dry as he played his first game in X season. Due to rules that allow players to win the rookie of the year award if they have played less than 25 games in the NHL (or so) the term rookie can be used to signify a player is Calder eligible.--Mo Rock...Monstrous (leech44) 19:46, 15 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Numerous issues

edit

This article needs numerous additional sources; I will try to work on some later but if anyone else has the time please help out. Also, the photo is missing and there is some misinformation - such as the statement that he was not sent down to Norfolk last season - he apparently was, as shown here. I've added the Norfolk statistics per the page referenced above. Still needs more future work... Calabe1992 (talk) 20:34, 20 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Relatives?

edit

Is Mike related to Billy Smith or other famous people, or is this just a case of having the same common last name? Nutster (talk) 13:19, 19 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
