Notability

edit

I tagged this for notability as I do not think that on the sourcing I found that he passes WP:GNG or any relevant SNG (e.g. SOLDIER, not sure what else - we don't have a spy SNG). From what I see, he is mentioned once in a Yizkor book (for the town he was a postmaster of). In addition I presume there is coverage somewhere (e.g. print archives) for him being wanted in 1955–1957 (for denouncing Poles). In 2009 there was a brief spurt of coverage (in Polish media) based on Białystok IPN prosecutors saying he might have instigated several pogroms (by Poles) on behalf of the Germans. It does not seem these interim remarks ended in anything conclusive either way. Icewhiz (talk) 08:44, 23 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Icewhiz: There is an article on pl:Mieczysław Kosmowski, which has a source not used in this article. See http://www.iap.pl/?id=wiadomosci&nrwiad=357385. It talks about him possibly being involved in the killing of eight Poles. That may be worth a look. Dreamy Jazz 🎷 talk to me | my contributions 08:53, 23 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Icewhiz: Disregard. Can't obviously see. Already used on the article. Dreamy Jazz 🎷 talk to me | my contributions 08:54, 23 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
Yes - I added the interwiki link to the Polish Wikipedia - and took the source from there (the link there is better than the IPN press roundup summary from 2009 (which has a paragraph for each news item the IPN was mentioned in - which I found by myself). And interview by a prosecutor with Nasz Dziennik is not a good source - but it is better than Polonia Christiana. Icewhiz (talk) 09:03, 23 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
I have made some upgrades to the article and added more sources, so the article is much more acceptable now. Davidgoodheart (talk) 00:01, 7 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

English-language Wikipedia and not a single English-language source. Unacceptable. Not to mention that the Poles had endless [pogroms 1914 to 1939 and were responsible for the Madagascar Plan to rid Poland of its Jews. It is a bit rich putting this page up. 2A00:23C4:B617:7D01:DA1:2DD3:7D62:8AF9 (talk) 09:13, 12 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
