I'll take a look and start to leave some comments within the next few days. I am taking on board a batch of reviews, so it may be some time before I start to comment. I am also by nature a fairly slow and thorough reviewer who likes to check out sources, so this is unlikely to be quick. However, I am always willing to help out on the editing, and will make direct minor adjustments myself rather than list them. I always welcome discussion, and see the review process as entirely collaborative. SilkTork ✔Tea time 16:51, 29 September 2011 (UTC)

edit- In doing the quick easy checks of no edit wars, images and a reference section, I noticed that this article attracts occasional vandalism. As this is a BLP I would be inclined to semi-protect it, though I am aware that some articles attract useful contributory edits from IP accounts, so there is a judgement call to be made. What is the view of the main contributors? SilkTork ✔Tea time 17:16, 30 September 2011 (UTC)
- I wouldn't oppose protection but now that the relatively high profile (and unsuccessful) spell at Sheffield United has finished then the article should prove less of a target for vandalism.--EchetusXe 19:14, 30 September 2011 (UTC)
- The use of flag icons is generally discouraged. It's possible the use in the Managerial statistics table is unhelpful, as all the teams he managed play within the same league system, yet Swansea is shown with the Welsh flag. Would it be more relevant to show the league the teams played in? This is, though, just a general comment, as the use of the flag icons do not impact on the GA criteria. SilkTork ✔Tea time 19:45, 30 September 2011 (UTC)
- The current Swansea manager has a Welsh flag in his stats table, so too for the current Cardiff manager. The flag column could be removed of course, however I feel that using England flag would be confusing for the reader.--EchetusXe 14:07, 1 October 2011 (UTC)
- I would suggest removing the flag column, as the current usage is not in line with MoS guidelines - the nationality of the teams is not relevant because they all play in the same domestic league. There are lots of articles that don't follow guidelines, we can only deal with those we look at. The WP:MOSFLAG gives examples of appropriate usage, and it would be appropriate if the teams were national or representing their nations - in this case the teams are all domestic. Adams has not managed a national level team. SilkTork ✔Tea time 19:01, 1 October 2011 (UTC)
- Ok, have removed the flags.--EchetusXe 19:17, 1 October 2011 (UTC)

- The phrase "turned to coaching" in the lead is not clear. My understanding is that "coaching" is frequently regarded as another term for "managing", though is sometimes used in relation to people who do the training rather than the strategy. SilkTork ✔Tea time 20:00, 30 September 2011 (UTC)
- "nine of his players were arrested, though this number was later reduced to three players". This needs clarifying. SilkTork ✔Tea time 21:00, 30 September 2011 (UTC)
- Nine were initially arrested and then it seems only three were charged. Things like this can be quite unclear, especially with foreign courts and ways of doing things. I added detail to it, as they were found innocent then what exactly happens is unclear.--EchetusXe 14:07, 1 October 2011 (UTC)
- You've clarified - "three were charged". Thanks. I've put that in the article. SilkTork ✔Tea time 19:13, 1 October 2011 (UTC)

- "Adams considered switching to a 3–5–2 formation..." - this is mentioned, but not developed. SilkTork ✔Tea time 21:10, 30 September 2011 (UTC)
- Right, yeah. He keeps trying the formation now so it is worth expanding on that and I have done so.--EchetusXe 14:07, 1 October 2011 (UTC)
- It's worth bearing WP:REPEATLINK in mind. This is not a GA issue, just a general comment. I am of the view that it's helpful to link in each distinct section, as people frequently read individual sections rather than entire articles from start to finish, so I am not averse to the same topic being linked several times - however, I am getting the impression that some non-important and easily understood terms are linked quite a lot. Sheffield United? Manager of the Month award? SilkTork ✔Tea time 21:27, 30 September 2011 (UTC)
- There are different articles for the manager of the month awards for the Third Division, Second Division, First Division, Championship, and League Two. Six monthly awards in five different divisions, quite unique now that you point it out! I removed one link to Sheffield United that I felt could be lost without complaint.--EchetusXe 14:07, 1 October 2011 (UTC)
- Clear readable prose. Very engaging in places. A pleasure to read. SilkTork ✔Tea time 21:35, 30 September 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you.--EchetusXe 14:07, 1 October 2011 (UTC)
- There's no Personal life section. Is there a reason for that? Is he married? Does he have other interests? SilkTork ✔Tea time 21:36, 30 September 2011 (UTC)
- I had a quick search and found this which describes the break up of his marriage and 'opens up as he talks about family, friends, music'. So this should provide the information for a personal life section.--EchetusXe 14:07, 1 October 2011 (UTC)
- The article meets formatting and presentation issues. I'll now be looking at content, coverage, accuracy and sources. This can sometimes take a while, depending on availability of sources, and complexity of the topic. SilkTork ✔Tea time 21:38, 30 September 2011 (UTC)
- Ok, cheers.--EchetusXe 14:07, 1 October 2011 (UTC)
- Sources bear out the accuracy of the article, and it appears a fair, balanced and detailed article. If there is some material on his personal life, I'd like to see that in the article before listing, as there is some expectation by the general reader of such information. SilkTork ✔Tea time 19:31, 1 October 2011 (UTC)
- That radio interview gave quite a bit of information on his playing career, as well as enough to hint at his family life and his music tastes. Was a very useful source! Glad you got the ball rolling on this.--EchetusXe 13:41, 2 October 2011 (UTC)

editThis is a detailed, balanced, informative, attractive and very readable biography of a football manager. Sources are well used to support the statements. Good work. SilkTork ✔Tea time 07:59, 3 October 2011 (UTC)
