Bias

I think this article is too biased in it's style and it doesn't give enough/any information on the serious criticisms that have been levelled at Mr Eisner.

Totally agreed. Show us, don't tell us, and it will be much more convincing. Eisner did a number of objectively terrible things for / to the company, and none are related here. It currently sounds like a slightly angry review without any detail.

Disney's America

Removed the link on this topic. The link did not go directly to a page on this topic. The page with information has an unbeliveably annoying embedded sound. It seemed unrelated to the Eiser bio.

can we change the bit about Julie Andrews being the "Unofficial mascot?" Seems rude to call a grown woman a mascot.

Initially, this show received a zero rating (see [1]).

Michael Eisner Quotes

Can we please get some less villianous quotes for this section? I know Eisner is not well liked by most people, but you can't deny that without him, the Walt Disney Company may not still exist. Here's one to start:

"There's no good idea that can't be improved on."

Nor can it be denied that 'if Kennedy had not been shot Will Smith may never have been on television'. One can not prove it to be true or untrue. Kathy Eisner Wording

It wasn't clear to me if Kathy Eisner is a talent scout or Robert Eisner is a talent scout. I'm no expert at the English language but I assume there's some slightly better way. Sorry for not being able to suggest a better wording. Maybe instead of: "He has an in-law sister, Kathy Eisner, married to his brother Robert, who is a child talent agent for the company John Robert Powers.", something like "His brother Robert is married to Kathy Eisner, who is a child talent agent for the company John Robert Powers." or "Eisner's sister-in-law, Kathy Eisner, is a child talent agent for the company John Robert Powers, and is married to his brother Robert." would work better? On a side note, John Robert Powers appears to be a fairly controversial company - is there some precedence for identifying this type of controversy? RobI (talk) 06:02, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

The Save Disney War and Eisner's ouster

In 2003, Roy E. Disney, the son of Disney co-founder Roy O. Disney, resigned from his positions as Disney vice chairman and chairman of Walt Disney Feature Animation, accusing Eisner of micromanagement, failures with the ABC television network, timidity in the theme park business, turning the Walt Disney Company into a "rapacious, soul-less" company, and refusing to establish a clear succession plan, as well as a string of box-office movie failures starting in the year 2000.

On March 3 2004, at Disney's annual shareholders' meeting, a surprising and unprecedented 43% of Disney's shareholders, predominantly rallied by former board members Roy Disney and Stanley Gold, withheld their proxies to re-elect Eisner to the board. This vigorous opposition, unusual in major public corporations, convinced Disney's board to strip him of his chairmanship and give that position to Mitchell. However, the board did not immediately remove Eisner as chief executive.

As criticism of Eisner intensified in the wake of the shareholder meeting, Eisner's position became more and more tenuous. On March 13 2005, Eisner announced that he would step down as CEO one year before his contract expired. On September 30 Eisner resigned both as an executive and as a member of the board of directors, and, severing all formal ties with the company, he waived his contractual rights to perks such as the use of a corporate jet and an office at the company's Burbank headquarters. Eisner's replacement was his longtime lieutenant, Bob Iger.

Katzenburg "resigned"

I think the article should elaborate on the part in the article which states that "soon after Katzenburg 'resigned'" that is the article should mention that he forced katzenburg to resign, which even lead to a lawsuit.... Definitely worth mentioning, not that im trying to insinuate the article is at all biased ;) --A person one (talk) 12:14, 9 October 2010 (UTC)
