Formal request has been received to merge Member of Provincial Parliament (Canada) and Member of Provincial Parliament (Western Cape) into Member of Provincial Parliament and remove this as a dab page; dated: April 6, 2022. Proposer's rationale: The two articles are about the title/style MPP, not about the jobs themselves. Generally titles/stylings repeatedly used internationally share an article, e.g. Majesty, The Right Honourable. Also resolves the stub problem of the Western Cape article. Discuss here. • Oppose The article could (and should) reasonably cover more than the title/stylings (possibly after a move - but anyways: there's certainly enough content to have separate articles about Member of Parliament (United Kingdom) and Member of Parliament (Canada), and I certainly wouldn't be surprised if there was sufficient distinction to have separate pages about members of provincial legislatures that are similarly thousands of kilometers away). • Oppose per RandomCanadian's argument. We can definitely flesh the Canadian article out more, in line with Member of Provincial Parliament (Canada). If anything, I would recommend starting a discussion to merge Member of Provincial Parliament (Western Cape) into Western Cape Provincial Parliament. Member of Provincial Parliament (Western Cape) has no substance and its current content doesn't really warrant a standalone article. RoyalObserver (talk) 14:32, 7 April 2022 (UTC)
