Megan Evans is a multidisciplinary artist, working in video, photography, sculpture, and installation. These media build on a background in the traditional mediums of painting and drawing. She began her career as a professional artist in 1983 when she designed and painted the Northcote Koorie Mural with Les Griggs, Millie Yarran, Ian Johnson, Ray Thomas and Elaine Trott.
Megan's work is informed by social issues. It examines the nature of belonging and the impact of colonisation on identity, both self and nation. Her practice ultimately involves a mix of conceptual issues and aesthetic concerns.
Her current work can be seen at www.meganevansartist.com.
