Maurice Gosfield
editHow and why did he die?? Peter morin (talk) 09:09, 20 March 2017 (UTC)
If you were a little kid in the Fifties, Doberman was the only character in the platoon besides Bilko whose name you knew and who you loved. Once Ritzik left the show, he was the little kids' favorite. --Damn, I just tried to remember Bilko's Army serial number. RA 150426699? I've known it all my life-- I can't have forgotten it. Seriously, Mr. Gosfield had a fantastic voice, and a perfect deadpan. He played straight for Phil Silvers. Silvers could crack up the audience just by looking at him. Doberman usually stood straight, immobile, like a fire plug, and as expressionless, while Silvers as Bilko cavorted around him, manufacturing schemes, flailing his hands like a conjurer. Perfect foil for Bilko's animation. Profhum (talk) 10:46, 23 March 2021 (UTC)
Was he in the film 42nd Street?
editDid Mr Gosfield appear for just a few seconds in the film 42nd Street?
I was watching it once on television and I thought I recognised him. I forget the exact context, it was something like just walking on and delivering a message.
