Interstate Standards
editThere was a big spending spree several years ago to upgrade 24 to Interstate standards. They were attempting to have it designated part of 93. This involved new guardrails, new signage, and other little "fancy" things that the highway didn't really need.
I'm not disputing it doesn't meet the standards, since I don't really know much about roadway standards. What is it still missing, though? Sahasrahla 18:41, Jun 4, 2005 (UTC)
- I'm not sure; it may be the exit and entrance ramps. Or maybe the info here is outdated. --SPUI (talk) 19:46, 4 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- Ah, [1] has some info. There are problems with ramps and bridges. Of course many of the Interstates aren't up to present standards either. --SPUI (talk) 19:50, 4 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- South of 495, there are a lot of tight interchanges (small-radius clovers, short accel/decel lanes). Kind of like Route 128 Peabody-Gloucester, except the road is straighter. --Sam 16 Aug 2005.
Highway Designation Between I-95 and I-93/Rt.24
editMy guess is that MassDOT will probably call the section from I-95 to I-93 I-93 Spur. --Deweypants (talk) 13:28, 16 May 2014 (UTC)
Rhode Island
editI'm just curious - why have Rhode Island exits been added to this article? Isn't there a separate article for RI 24? Sahasrahla (talk) 04:56, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
- Perhaps the MA 24 and RI 24 articles will be merged sometime in the future. Ed (talk) 15:41, 26 July 2010 (UTC)
