editI changed all instances of "Haide" to "Ma." Ma was his Chinese surname, and it is generally preferable to refer to people by their surnames rather than their given names in formal writing. Sigrid 20:51, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
Traditionally, refer a Chinese people Only by his surname is offensive, by given name is the friendly way.--刻意(Kèyì) 15:11, 27 March 2009 (UTC)
- When a surname is common, it's normal to give the full name. I'd have thought it was better, since Ma is a common Chinese name. --GwydionM (talk) 18:13, 27 March 2009 (UTC)
Parents
editSomeone has twice removed this reference, without explanation. Silly. GwydionM (talk) 07:38, 24 May 2023 (UTC)
- As per the documentation for {{infobox person}} (as indicated in my edit summary), parents should be included "only if they are independently notable or particularly relevant" - there is no indication that is the case here. Additionally your edits restored non-neutral language and unreliable sourcing, which should not be done. Nikkimaria (talk) 10:52, 24 May 2023 (UTC)
