Origin of Ma'danids
editIs it possible that they were of Indic origin given their use of the title "Maharaj"? I know that the "Zutt" (lower-Indus pastoralists, including Indics) were prevalent in Makran at the time. Perhaps Jamotes? Forticus02 (talk) 02:16, 5 November 2024 (UTC)
- Of course, I know that the use of a title alone doesn't mean anything by itself. But it might offer a hint. At the time of this state, the Habbarids were using the Arabic title of "Emir" to their east, and the Samanids were using the Iranic title of "Shah" to their west. I think Arab or Persian historians would have mentioned some link to the Ma'danids if they thought them to be their (Sanskritized) cousins. Forticus02 (talk) 02:18, 5 November 2024 (UTC)
