Neither this article nor the M151 page explain the destruction of the steering and driveline...as this is not offensive equipment, shouldn't the article explain the reason for destroying perfectly good trucks? Was the technology considered to be a secret? Or was the DoD worried that some foreign power would buy up all of the surplus trucks and become capable of unstoppable logistics? It seems a waste.
