"International" name
editWhy does LBB call itself an international airport? It doesn't seem to fly to any non-U.S. destinations. Ckamaeleon ((T)) 09:45, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
Charter flights and private aircraft can make international flights from LBB. ferdblivid ((T))
LBB also handles international cargo flights and there is a U.S. Customs office there to oversee this.
Relevance of information?
editI'm unclear about why any of the following text is relevant:
"There are concession located on the property including a Starbucks coffee unit."
"Wait times at this airport are extremely minimal usually taking about 10 minutes from entering the airport, to ticket-counters, to gate."
"Lubbock Preston Smith international Airport is one of only 42 airports around the world with CNN Airport Network."
"There is occasional Allegiant Airlines charter service although not widely publicized."
None of this information adds significant value to the main article. (Besides, I have no idea what the phrase "extremely minimal" means. Merriam-Webster defines "extreme" as "existing in a very high degree" and lists maximum as a synonym. Therefore, "extremely minimal" must mean either "minimal to a very high degree" or maximally minimal." Please. Use your brains, kids.)--75.75.91.240 12:31, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
"Embraer 145 Amazon" Jet aircraft
editA contributor to the main article wrote:
"Scheduled passenger service utilizes ... Embraer 145 Amazon Jet aircraft (American/Continental Express)..."
A search of Embraer's web site for the term "Amazon" did not reveal anything. So, then, what is an "Embraer 145 Amazon," how does it differ from the other members of the Embraer 145 family, and what is the source or reference for this term? --75.75.91.240 (talk) 20:02, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
Southwest Airlines LBB-ELP nonstop.
editI thought Southwest was reinstating its LBB-ELP nonstop flight on March 13, 2011. That route is no longer noted. Did they cancel that plan? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.170.133.91 (talk) 03:24, 29 December 2010 (UTC)
AA S80s being replaced with CR9 in LBB
editBOOOOOO! Starting in December 2014, the S80 jets are being replaced with CR9. Bookings for the mainline flights to and from LBB have been VERY strong since AA reinstated S80 service 2 years ago. Sux that the 319 couldn't replace the S80 in order to keep mainline AA presence in LBB. Looks like we're not the only city getting hosed. ELP, CRP, and ABQ are losing S80 for CR9 as well.
