Talk:Lithops

Burchell spotted the first Lithops on September 14th 1811, and this is described in "Burchell, W.J. Travels in the Interior of Southern Africa. 1822." In 1821, Adrian H Howarth published a description of Burchell's plant under the genus Mesembryanthemum. The plants were obviously known to indigenous peoples long before that. The genus Lithops was first officially named by N.E.Br in 1922.

Take care. Lithop is not a word, only a typo. I don't know what the Wikipedia policy is on redirecting typos to an article the user probably meant, but you should check before creating the redirect. Lithopsian (talk) 18:34, 27 August 2013 (UTC)

Improvement Suggestions

Hello! I have a couple of suggestions for the improvement of this article. Overall, the article is lacking when it comes to citations and could use a few more to provide a larger variety of information to make it more reliable. The Distribution section is very short compared to the rest of the other sections in the article and could use some elaboration. Also, a range map would be very informative here and would add a visual element to this part. I also noticed that the Distribution section is currently completely lacking of any citations and it would be helpful to add a couple of those here for the information already present.
