There is not consulate of Chile in Taiwan
editI am a Chilean living in Taiwan and there is not consulate of Chile here (which is very annoying by the way). Therefore the map shown on this page should be modified. 211.20.144.247 (talk) 05:30, 8 May 2023 (UTC)
- Aquintero82.
- I personally went to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Santiago City, Chile, and they told me that PROCHILE offices (also known as Chilean Trade Offices) ARE NOT CONSULATES or any kind of diplomatic mission and THEY WILL NOT ASSIST WITH ANY CONSULAR MATTER. I also called the ProChile Office in Taiwan (the Chilean Trade Office in Taiwan) and they said THEY CANNOT ASSIST WITH ANY CONSULAR MATTER.
- I was told (by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and also the Chilean Trade Office) that the only Chilean consular mission available for people residing in Taiwan (Chilean, Taiwanese or Whoever living in Taiwan) is the Consulate of Chile in Hong Kong, and since Taiwan is not recognized as a country by Chile, they can only accept documents from Taiwan if these documents are previously stamped by a country that has diplomatic relationships with Chile, which basically means that I need first to get the stamp of the Embassy of Paraguay in Taiwan if I want to use any document at the Consulate of Chile in Hong Kong.
- I hope I made my point clear. This page is misinforming. 59.120.78.232 (talk) 04:22, 18 May 2023 (UTC)
- Hello, the article states that Chile has a "Trade Office" in Taiwan. It does not say "Consulate". Also, the Chilean trade office serves as a de-facto embassy in Taiwan. They may assist with consular matters. Please reach out to them, here is their link. Aquintero82. (talk), 8:18, 8 May 2022 (UTC)
