Shell
editThe definition of shell seems far too narrow. The reference is from 1859 yet it refers to high explosive - not likely in 1859. Cyclopaedic (talk) 18:03, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
Fuze/fuse
editAnybody wish to advice which is the correct spelling? I thought that it should be "fuze", which it was originally, but somebody helpfully changed them all to fuse years back. My understanding is that "fuse" is a simple burning thing whereas "fuze" is a more sophisticated and/or embedded detonation system but I feel my knowledge on the subject isn't sufficient to say so with any degree of authority.
Edit: this isn't an ENGVAR thing AFAIK. --Vometia (talk) 04:42, 17 August 2020 (UTC)
