Initial comments
editWhat order should the societies be listed in? is it vain to put the American Red Cross on top?

- Alphabetical. Yes, it is. Luis Dantas 10:22, 13 December 2005 (UTC)
The map is wrong. Lebanon uses the Red Cross. Could someone fix it? Eklipse (talk) 17:42, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
- Done. Eklipse (talk) 16:41, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
Cyprus is also painted Green - but it is a country using the Red Cross —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.131.32.119 (talk) 18:19, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
list, map - discrepancies
editI see a few discrepancies between the current list as it stands, the map, and this list at the IFRC site: [1]. Because of this, I propose to split the list in the following sections: national societies members of the federation, other national societies (here the special cases would have notes as "observer, federation membership pending" or other as per each case), states with no national society. Chronology
editWould be great if someone could dig up the years of establishment for each national society and put them in a table.Noodleki (talk) 18:24, 1 June 2014 (UTC)
Mongolia
editDoes anyone know why the map shows a little green strip inside Mongolia? Is there a regional society that uses the Red Crescent? I don't see anything that would explain it on the Mongolia Red Cross page. 130.56.50.109 (talk) 03:48, 3 September 2014 (UTC)
- My guess is a graphical mistake. It was created by @Alinor:, perhaps he can look at it.Naraht (talk) 15:50, 3 September 2014 (UTC)
Sources modified on List of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies
editHello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just attempted to maintain the sources on List of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. I managed to add archive links to 1 source, out of the total 1 I modified, whiling tagging 0 as dead.
Please take a moment to review my changes to verify that the change is accurate and correct. If it isn't, please modify it accordingly and if necessary tag that source with {{cbignore}}
to keep Cyberbot from modifying it any further. Alternatively, you can also add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}}
to keep me off the page's sources altogether. Let other users know that you have reviewed my edit by leaving a comment on this post.
Below, I have included a list of modifications I've made:
- Added archive http://web.archive.org/web/20090513065139/http://www.ifrc.org/publicat/profile/ to http://www.ifrc.org/publicat/profile/

Mauritania uses the Red Crescent symbol...
edit...Yet is marked as using the Red Cross on the map. Also, Israel's national society refers to the "Shield of David", not "Star of David". Вечный подмастерье (talk) 01:16, 26 February 2023 (UTC)
- While Magen is Shield, the phrase Magen David is translated as Star of David into English in general. Not sure on Mauritania.Naraht (talk) 02:04, 26 February 2023 (UTC)
Bhutan
editIs the Bhutan Red Cross Society not a member of the IRCS. For some reason it is a different colour on the map. 2A00:23C4:B3AB:DA01:E94E:4FF1:6FFF:9E9C (talk) 10:42, 23 November 2023 (UTC)
