Rating as an ARTICLE not as a mere wiki-List
editDespite "list" being in the article title, this, like other tables of NHLs by state, is far more than a mere list and is to be rated on scale Stub / Start / B, and then go for Featured List status. See discussion / proposed criteria for rating list-table-articles like this, under discussion in Talk page of WP:NRHP. Consistent with proposal there, I am rating this as Stub for now. To reach Start quality rating, among other criteria in the proposal, there must be at least a Stub article for each NHL in the complete list of NHLs for Hawaii. doncram 01:30, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
- Updated to C-class for wp:NRHP, now consistent with other NHL area-lists that have complete coverage, meaning an article properly holding NHL info for each NHL. doncram (talk) 08:08, 5 July 2008 (UTC)
- That's fine, but I'm rating it as List-Class for WP:HAWAII. The assessment criteria is used for articles, not lists, however I can see that many projects have chosen to do it differently and I respect that. Viriditas (talk) 10:04, 5 July 2008 (UTC)
Looks like we are back to being a list? W Nowicki (talk) 23:31, 24 September 2009 (UTC)
Title
editIn the title, is Hawaii spelled with an apostrophe for some reason, or should it be moved?--Appraiser (talk) 21:39, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
- Of course this is not an appostrophe but an ʻokina. According to various manuals of styles, special characters should be avoided in article titles, and it looks like this was quietly changed in August 2009. If it were me, I would consistently use the ʻokina in the island names (as has been done), but avoid it consistently when talking about the US State, since that appears in almost any English dictionary as just plain "Hawaii" (and in the article a few places). I would also use the characters in the presentation (but not article titles!) for the sites themselves, e.g. Honokōhau, Moʻokini Heiau, etc. W Nowicki (talk) 23:31, 24 September 2009 (UTC)
