Why is "Blows Against the Empire" listed as a Jefferson Starship project on this page?

I don't think Blows Against the Empire is appropriate for the Jefferson Starship members article page as it was a Paul Kantner solo project released some years prior to the formation of Jefferson Starship. I think it should be removed from the "List of Jefferson Starship members" article, as it is confusing and muddies the Jefferson Starship history. I would appreciate other editors input. Hello Cheryl, It probably makes more sense to include it here, since it is the same name, and include an explanation that the name from the album was later applied to the band. The main Jefferson Starship article already includes this information. Regards,AbleGus (talk) 03:47, 12 April 2019 (UTC)

Timeline additions/changes?

My ideas to clean up the timeline or make it more accurate:

-Omit Craig's backing vocals until 1982, I've noticed in live videos he doesn't seem to sing until that era.

-Freiberg's bass contributions end at 1983, he completely stopped playing bass live then and plays no bass on Nuclear Furniture, I believe

-Also Freiberg, his lead vocal contributions ended in 1976, when they performed "Come to Life" for the last time.

-ALSO also Freiberg, change to predominantly rhythm guitar, secondarily lead vocals post-2016 due to Kantner's death and his increasing contributions on rhythm guitar.

-Possibly extend timeline to include the 1985-1991 Starship tenure? This is a bit ambitious, so I'll need more support than usual for this one.

-Add Tom Lilly and other touring members to separate timeline?

-Remove Chris Smith's width:3 bass, he plays bass on a separate keyboard, not a 4-stringed electric one.

-Remove/move Peter Kaukonen's bass tenure in 1994 to the proposed touring member section, as instead of having two bassists on stage (Kaukonen and Casady), he often subbed for Casady.

These changes to the timeline would require sources. We cannot use your observation that Chaquico did not sing on videos, or that Freiberg stopped playing bass, to make these changes. Starship is covered in a separate article already, it is too confusing to have it also listed here. While the band was often billed as "Jefferson Starship: The Next Generation" from 1992-1994, "The Next Generation" was not always included in the billing but Jefferson Starship always was present. We should not have a separate entry for "TNG" on the timeline. Peter Kaukonen was billed as a member, even if it was briefly. Regards,AbleGus (talk) 04:47, 6 April 2021 (UTC)

The information on Sears being a guest is off topic to the body of the article on band members. Balin, Casady, Mangano, Gould and Prince did not appear on Mother of the Sun so they should not read as appearing on all albums to date. Changes to band member instrument listing on the key must be based on sources and not personal observations that "Chaquico did not sing before this point" or "Freiberg did not play bass after 1983." Creating a separate touring musician timeline is unnecessary and confusing for this page. It makes it appear that individuals like Pete Sears are regularly performing with the group since 2016 when they have in fact only made one or two few guest appearances. Similar band member pages like Fleetwood Mac do not include a separate touring artist timeline. It does not really add value here, so it should not be included.
