Merging of demise
editI've restored the content discussing the end of the legion, with the change made while it was it's own article - I can't see any good reason for this to be split off from the main article, and very few pages link to that article.31.219.90.211 (talk) 06:46, 27 May 2021 (UTC)
Does CIL VI 3492 (footnote #2) date from 145?
editThat inscription with the list of legions includes 2 legions raised in c.165 (II Italica Pia and III Italica Concors) and 3 raised in c.197 (I, II and III Parthica). Of course lists can be updated or even censored (damnatio memoriae). An inscription from 145 would have included the unknown Roman legion (IX Hispana, XXII Deioteriana, whatever) destroyed by the Parthians in 161 or 162. 85.84.57.60 (talk) 19:07, 11 December 2024 (UTC)
