Who is Bliss?

edit

The first paragraph in "History and criticism" refers to a mononymic individual named "Bliss" ("Upon the outbreak of the First World War, Bliss enlisted in the British West Indies Regiment"), but there is no further reference to any individuals named (in any part) Bliss throughout. What's up with that? Maxs4269 (talk) 03:59, 27 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Looks like vandalism, fixed it to before https://en.wiki.x.io/w/index.php?title=Land_of_the_Free_(anthem)&oldid=1107051883 Maxs4269 (talk) 04:06, 27 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

– No indication that the Belize national anthem is the WP:PRIMARY TOPIC above all remaining topics combined at Land of the Free (disambiguation). Other national anthems which do not bear unique names (Djibouti (anthem), Europe (anthem), Motherland (anthem)) appear with parenthetical qualifiers. Many anthems are not even identified by a specific name, but rather a generic main title header (Anthem of the Slovene nation, Brazilian National Anthem or National anthem of Russia). —Roman Spinner (talk)(contribs) 04:43, 26 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

Belize national anthemLand of the Free (anthem) – "Land of the Free" is the title of the anthem. "Belize national anthem" is a descriptive phrase, not a title. The previous page move, which didn't match the move request, was like moving Bald Eagle to "United States national bird". The title should reflect the actual title. • Lukewarm about just (anthem) because it doesn't solve the basic problem, confusion with the US national anthem. And sorry but the comparison made in the proposal isn't helpful; e.g. the Keel-billed toucan is an animal which existed before Belize and was not man-made as "the Belize national bird". The 1963 amended anthem "Land of the Gods, by the Carib See" now O Land of the free, by the Carib Sea was specifically intended as a nationalist anthem for Belize. The problem is the heavy association of the phrase "Land of the Free" with the US national anthem. For any readers outside the Caribbean it would be helpful, user friendly, to have a title which helps readers. Land of the Free (Belize) would be more helpful than just "(anthem)" and is perfectly within Wikipedia rules. In ictu oculi (talk) 08:52, 10 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
Incidentally should have said National anthem of Belize to be consistent with others in Category:National anthems, but the main thing in above RM, which happened, was the move away from occupying a slot known for many other things. In ictu oculi (talk) 09:03, 10 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
