Lacombe → Lacombe (disambiguation) — Lacombe, Alberta, with a population of over 11,000, is about to become a city (effective 5 September, 2010). I believe that it should be like most other cities in Alberta, and drop the ", Alberta" suffix. I must admit I may not be universally neutral in this, because I consider it the primary topic since it, and the county, are the only Lacombes I know. 117Avenue (talk) 04:51, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
- Comment. I would say there may not be a primary topic, since Lacombe, Louisiana is relatively close to it in population (11000 vs. 7000). Mind you, the US place is a "census designated place" only, and I'm not sure how commonly the actual name is used to refer to the place in Louisiana. - Oppose Giving a place with a population of 11 000 city status could be a bit of a joke, hardly crucial in deciding primary meaning. There are several people of this name, and the place in Louisiana is not a lot smaller, so I suggest no primary meaning. PatGallacher (talk) 10:57, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
- Oppose - the primary meaning is a common French surname. --Qyd (talk) 13:49, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
