Pole?

edit

There is no context for the picture Preparing the "palo jabón". This isn't mentioned in the article, so seems out of place. If it is part of the festival it could be described in the article? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 163.164.225.102 (talk) 09:10, 26 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Smell?

edit

is there any smell a couple days after this?

what? --83.165.88.163 (talk) 07:09, 27 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
Apparently not - Fire trucks hose down the streets and participants use hoses that locals provide to remove the tomato paste from their bodies. Some participants go to the pool of “los peñones” to wash. After the cleaning, the village cobblestone streets are pristine due to the acidity of the tomato disinfecting and thoroughly cleaning the surfaces. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 163.164.225.102 (talk) 09:13, 26 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Meme?

edit

"Approximately 20,000–40,000 tourists come to the tomato fight, multiplying by several times Buñol's normal population of 9,000."

Are we sure this isn't vandalism? It seems an awful lot like the "over 9000" meme that is going around the internet...If not, than that's a pretty funny coincidence. Zell65 (talk) 06:51, 21 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Buñol´s population is of 9389, doesnt seem to be vandalism. [[1]]--79.154.199.8 (talk) 21:21, 6 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Replaced 'anarchic' with 'chaotic'

edit

I replaced 'anarchic' with 'chaotic' to fit the context. Anarchy is not chaos but was being equated as such.XXVII (talk) 00:18, 29 August 2009 (UTC)noooo u didntReply

la tomatina is comsidered a big yellow house with squirrels on the roof in portugal

Not done: this article is about a Spanish festival. If you want to write a properly-sourced article about yellow houses with squirrels, then go ahead. Once you have we can set up a disambiguation page and an appropriate hat note in this article. Until then there is no need to make a change. --Biker Biker (talk) 18:09, 19 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Badly Translated

edit

This article reads like it has been badly translated by a non-fluent English speaker. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.0.84.2 (talk) 09:30, 26 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

I just did an edit for readability in the History section to address this issue. Hiptoyourjive (talk) 14:35, 26 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

History Repetitive

edit

The 2nd and 3rd paragraphs in history seem to be pretty much the same. Does someone who knows more about the history have an opinion on which is better? LobsterCan (talk) 11:19, 26 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

They were essentially the same. I just collapsed the info from both paragraphs into one Hiptoyourjive (talk) 14:35, 26 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Possible misinformation

edit

It says that in Palo Jabón, soap is put at the top of the pole. But in the cited source in the paragraph here[2] and this one[3], it says that ham is put at the top. Can someone offer an explanation? ~~ Quinnerwinner12 (talk) 19:04, 9 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Are the streets actually clean?

edit

Cant find any information to actually back up the " acidity makes the streets clean" assertion other than tourist articles all saying the same thing as each other as a mostly throwaway line. Is there anythign that actually backs up these claims or articles specifically about this? 108.18.100.20 (talk) 18:16, 31 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
