At the moment, the external link is not working. A thumbnail is still archived at Google Images, so I'm guessing this might be a temporary glitch. If I notice it down in the future I will delete the link. --Brian Z 23:27, 30 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

Abandoned

The place looks completely abandoned. See this Google Maps satellite image: sand piling up on the road, no sign of car tracks, most buildings with no roof. ... Anyone know details of what happened? Deuar 18:21, 4 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

The French wikipedia has more details - says it was abandoned in 1989 at the request of Mauritania. Kmusser 01:14, 2 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
