So, I guess...
edit...Kylie Minogue never sold any albums in the United States? Pleased though I am to see that her albums have performed so well in Switzerland... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.181.184.7 (talk) 00:46, 29 November 2011 (UTC)
- Nah, she's had plently of a success there. She's never been that successful other than Fever, but since then she's managed 2 maintain her place there.--Meluvseveryone (talk) 02:49, 15 December 2011 (UTC)
Proposed Changes
editSo i recently gave this article a huge overhaul, such as the addition of a "US" and "JPN" column in place of the "NZ" and "SWE" columns. However, they have been reverted as this changes apparantly need discussion. So for this article, I propose:
- The removal of the "NZ" (New Zealand) and the "SWE" (Sweden) columns, instead replacing them with the far more significant "JPN" (Japan) and "US" columns. Both of these territories are far far more commonly used in discography pages than New Zealand or Sweden. The "US" column is used in every discography page when possible, and the "JPN" column is completely notable, and has many more chart peaks than several other columns here, and several compilation + remix albums would be included in the proper rather than the "other" album section, such as Hits. which peaked at #62 in Japan. The sources used would be:
for Japan: http://www.oricon.co.jp/prof/artist/53811/products/release/
for US : http://www.allmusic.com/artist/kylie-minogue-p4921/charts-awards
- The removal of "infodisc.fr" as a source for French chart info. I have not found a single other discography page that uses this as a source, and the chart info on there completely contradicts with the official "lescharts.com" website. If you check both websites, you will find that the "infodisk.fr" site does not share the same chart peak info as the official "lescharts.com" website.
- The addition of given-away-free Extended Plays Other Sides, Money Can't Buy, Darling, and Pink Sparkle, as they are completely official Extended Plays, and fully notable, however they may not be included in the same "Extended Plays" section, as they are promotional like promotional singles.
- The removal of the box sets "Kylie/Enjoy Yourself/Rhythm of Love", "Kylie Minogue/Impossible Princess", and "X/Fever" as they are completely un-notable and many are unofficial, and issued by CD stores.
- The move of the Showgirl from "Live Albums" to "Extended Plays".
- Instead of the table order being "Sales" then "Certifications", it could be "Certifications" then "Sales", as is in the Madonna albums discography page.
- According to Kylie's official website "Kylie.com", Enjoy Yourself reached #1 in Ireland, however I am not sure if this should be added, we have no other information on pre-2000 Ireland albums performance.
I believe these changes would strongly benefit the article, which I believe is not up to standard at all. Please reply and tell me which changes you believe should and should not occur. Thank you.--Meluvseveryone (talk) 02:53, 18 December 2011 (UTC)
It is really very irritating that somebody makes the decision to delete NZ from this based solely on the size of New Zealand, and completely ignorant of the fact that it was in NZ, along with Australia and UK where she gathered popularity, and more people in NZ follow Kylie throughout her career rather than these Mainland European countries which still appears. Poorly judged decision! Although regretably agree US should be there. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.60.138.225 (talk) 11:39, 8 June 2012 (UTC)
Abbey Road Sessions
editAbbey Road Sessions should not be referred to and categorized as a compilation album. It's KM's 12th studio album, consisting of all new recordings. "Compilation album" denotes a collection of previously recorded/released material (such as her Best Of collection released four months prior to Abbey Road Sessions). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ananda62 (talk • contribs) 12:04, 8 November 2012 (UTC)
