The Forbes article shows that K/F is one of the "big four", so I'll put a sentence in using that to assert notability. I'll try some wording based on their claimed expertise to flesh out what they do. See what you think. I've removed the advert template - please feel free to put it back if you think the article is not sufficiently NPOV. --RexxS (talk) 06:40, 31 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Korn/Ferry News & Media

edit

I removed these from the article. They need to be integrated into the article text with citations. A section listing news coverage and mentions isn't appropriate. • BusinessWeek: Korn/Ferry CEO Gary Burnison talks to BusinessWeek about the Global Talent War[1]
Associated Press: Sequels to iconic CEOs rarely as good as original 01.15.09 [2]
Boardmember.com: Board Recruitment Tips for Obama's Cabinet Search 12.01.08 [3]
The Economist: CFOs and the Financial Crisis 10.30.08 [4]
Forbes.com: Talent Search 11.14.08 [5]
BNet: 5 Tactics for Landing a Board Seat 10.21.08 [6]
Forbes.com: Interviewing For The Top Job 10.14.08 [7]
Wall Street Journal: Alcatel Goes on Hunt for New Leaders 08.05.08 [8]

  • Forbes: Forbes ranks Korn/Ferry This article concludes do-it-yourself searches are as good or better. Korn Ferry did better than three the three other firms in the study. 01.14.09 [9]

  • These also need citations so they can be verified:

COI: User Nmroberts + User:Kohl22

edit

I note a number of edits on this article by Nmroberts. The account only seems to edit this article. Having checked, I note an N.M. Roberts is a marketing assistant at Korn Ferry. I have hence reverted the majority of the edits this evening by Nmroberts, retained the factual number chnages, and placed a COI tag on the article. I have also requested that Nmroberst read our rules on COI, and adjust their editting appropriately. Rgds, --Trident13 (talk) 23:38, 24 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Nmroberts now seems to have been replaced by Kohl22:. COI tag still applied. Rgds, --Trident13 (talk) 20:49, 13 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Korn Ferry released a new logo and changed their name to not include the "slash." Can we update the logo image and title?

References

edit

I noticed a number of references are the url to a Google Book link. I though editors might be interested in a tool which takes a link as input and creates a (usually) properly formatted ref.

Wikipedia citation tool for Google Books

I used it to improve one such reference.

It really helps creates a much cleaner list of references. I hope you will try it.--S Philbrick(Talk) 22:33, 4 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

moving claims said to be Douglas Cowherd's to talk page as he is actually quoting Korn in his book

edit

According to Douglas Cowherd, the firm brought "the practices and standards of professional service firms… into the search business". Cowherd wrote further that Korn Ferry "innovated in three domains", those being: "creat[ing] specialty practice groups that focused on recruiting in particular industries", computerizing the industry, and establishing a "global network of offices", with its first foreign offices opening in 1972.

Serols

edit

Serols has decided that the promotional content flagged here is something no one should remove. I disagree. I believe the tag at the top of the page, and we should remove advertorial material. Further comment here would be welcome! 2001:569:712B:C000:458C:EBFF:1BA8:1DFE (talk) 09:25, 13 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Date error in History

edit

In the second paragraph of the History section, it states:

"In 1999 the firm went public with an initial public offering (IPO), but in 1974 reacquired all outstanding shares to become private again.[6]"

This does not make sense logically, so must be incorrect. (I am not sure what the dates should actually be.) 198.70.201.220 (talk) 20:32, 3 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
