Colors: burgundy, gold, dark blue and dark green
editDoes this really mean anything? Wouldn't an image of the regimental colours serve the purpose better?
- I have removed the comment. Thanks. Dormskirk (talk) 13:39, 5 September 2018 (UTC)
Confused IP
editAn IP editor has repeatedly been trying to add the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry to the mention in this article of the 1968 amalgamation of the Light Infantry Brigade into The Light Infantry. I have repeatedly tried to explain to the IP that the Ox and Bucks had already left the Light Infantry Brigade 10 years before the 1968 amalgamation. From 1958 they were part of the Green Jackets, so were not involved in the 1968 light infantry amalgamation which affected the KSLI. Perhaps another editor can explain it to the IP in a language which he can understand? The wording of the article after the IP's recent edits makes no sense, but I can't revert it today for fear of violating 3rr. --David Biddulph (talk) 14:39, 10 April 2019 (UTC)
There were, of course, many light infantry regiments in existence at various times prior to 1958, see History of British light infantry#Fate of the light infantry regiments, so it isn't entirely clear why the IP wishes to include an arbitrary one of those in the discussion of the 1968 amalgamation of the KSLI into The Light Infantry. - David Biddulph (talk) 14:51, 10 April 2019 (UTC)
I think I have sorted it. Dormskirk (talk) 15:25, 10 April 2019 (UTC)
