The result of the move request was: moved. Consensus that the actress' WP:COMMONNAME in English-language sources omits the diacritics, and thus that the diacritics should be omitted here under WP:NCUE. Kiều Chinh → Kieu Chinh – This actress's name in English documents, media, and films is Kieu Chinh (no diacritics). Removing the diacritics will comply with Wikipedia's naming regulations. - Oppose all Vietnam articles, and indeed all Roman alphabet articles on en.wp are spelled with full fonts. So not sure that the nom understands this. Given that her most recent film Đoạt Hồn was a Vietnamese language film, there doesn't seem to any case to remove the accents. Are they offending anywone? Has anyone asked for this? - BTW I did a GBook search and guess what. In ictu oculi (talk) 17:19, 4 January 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose what naming regulations? WP:DIACRITICS doesn't support this—blindlynx 23:14, 4 January 2024 (UTC)
- Support. Her own website [1], all of her screen credits, the English-language citations, and even some of the Vietnamese citations, list her as Kieu Chinh. Softlavender (talk) 04:23, 10 January 2024 (UTC)
- And what about this and guess what. In ictu oculi (talk) 22:55, 17 January 2024 (UTC)
- Relisting comment: Trying to allow consensus to happen. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 14:06, 11 January 2024 (UTC)
- Support per WP:COMMONNAME. The vast majority of English-language sources use the spelling "Kieu Chinh". (In contrast, the spelling "Kiều Chinh" appears mostly in Vietnamese-language sources. And the fact that her own (English-language) website [2] uses "Kieu Chinh" makes this a 'no brainer'. PatricKiwi (talk) 04:27, 18 January 2024 (UTC)
- Support per WP:ENGLISH and WP:UE. Bait30 Talk 2 me pls? 04:07, 19 January 2024 (UTC)
