Those with access to better library facilities than I may be able to find more information on Johnson in True to the Blue: A History of the New South Wales Cricket Association (1985) by Philip Derriman. -- Mattinbgn\talk 22:04, 2 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

"Collapse" of libel trial?

edit

The second lead paragraph refers to "the collapse of the trial". This is misleading: it was not the trial that "collapsed", it was the defence against the alleged libel that was torn to shreds under cross-examination. Barnes, who sued for libel, was vindicated and received an apology and an out-of-court settlement. The same misleading words appear in the main text, leaving the reader in some doubt as to who actually won the case. Also, why is it necessary to refer to the trial twice in the lead? In the absence of the nominating editor I have dealt with the above points myself. Brianboulton (talk) 08:43, 29 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
