Sources [SPOILERS!]
editThe basic idea (and even some of the ways in which the plot lines play out) is essentially that of Lem's Solaris. Indeed, the alien goo deposited into the chamber of Katla by a meteorite could be viewed as the same stuff that constitutes the ocean of Solaris. The idea of disturbing shape-shifting alien life that lies buried in a barren inhospitable setting can be traced back to At The Mountains of Madness by Lovecraft; Who Goes There? / The Thing is the most famous elaboration of this Lovecraftian theme. 2A01:CB0C:CD:D800:B562:65D5:38E3:F664 (talk) 14:05, 26 June 2021 (UTC)
Actor mix-up
editThe article says "Aldís Amah Hamilton as Eyja; Husband of Grima." Uh, no, I don't think so. Aldís Amah Hamilton appears to be a female who played the lady at the volcanic research outpost. Grima's husband is called Kjartan and definitely played by someone else. 2001:16B8:2CED:2F00:5891:794B:AB1:C9AE (talk) 22:56, 11 August 2021 (UTC)
Image
editThis image: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Volcan_Katla,_Suðurland,_Islandia,_2014-08-17,_DD_132.JPG could serve this article well, but I've never added an image here before. I'll see if I can figure out how to do it, but if you agree and already know how to add it, feel free to have at it. Dgndenver (talk) 02:27, 8 January 2022 (UTC)
- While the image may represent the landscape where the story is set, I think it's not directly relevant to the article, so it shouldn't be included. Revirvlkodlaku (talk) 03:50, 8 January 2022 (UTC)
