Article contradicts other articles
editThis article says "The ancient kingdom of Kamatapur was located in the western Brahmaputra Valley." Kamarupa, 350 to 1140 CE, says that it "covered the entire Brahmaputra river valley, North Bengal and parts of Bangladesh."
This article says its last capital was Gosanimari, which was evidently also the capital of the Kamata Kingdom at the same time.
This article says that the 2nd capital, according to Debnath, was Maynaguri, which is interesting, as evidently Debnath also says "According to present historical researches carried out by Sailen Debnath, an eminent scholar of the region, Mainaguri was the second capital of the medieval Kamata kingdom." And the next sentence states "Kamatapur or Kamata Kingdom emerged as a sovereign state right from the middle of the seventh century."

Subject of this article
editPerhaps the answer to the above is the answer to this question. I've always wondered about the introduction which is disconnected to the rest of the article, as a proposed state has no history. Maybe we should go back to an earlier version, eg [1]. Note the now deleted template, "Template:Proposals for new Indian states and union territories". Or its version at its second edit[2] by the creator of the article. Dougweller (talk) 05:31, 24 October 2013 (UTC)
