... that when the owner of New Mexico television station KBIM-TV was told on the morning of April Fools' Day that his station's tower had collapsed, he initially wrote it off as a joke? Source: https://www.newspapers.com/clip/43526015/city-has-had-a-variety-of-broadcasters/

Overall: Article meets eligibility criteria - 5x in length per DYK Check. Prose size is good for main page. Article is well sourced. Minor edit might be required to add a source on the translators section. There is a newspapers.com clipping that bears the citation for the hook. The font size is quite small and I am not able to read it right perhaps, but, it looks like the newspaper.com clipping references Taylor getting a call on April 1 -- but, it might be suggesting that it was W.C. 'Bill' Taylor. Please can the nominator have a look and clarify if I am missing something. QPQ done. Earwig's Copyvio indicator shows no plagiarism. Assuming good faith on checks on content from newspaper scans. Passing back to the nominator. Will pick it up once ready. Ktin (talk) 03:36, 7 December 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Ktin, try reading it from NewspaperArchive (1979 is the only modern year Newspapers.com has of this paper, but NewspaperArchive has a near-complete run). That might be a bit bigger. It is indeed W. C. "Bill" Taylor—for some reason my head went "Bill or Jack?" and chose incorrectly. I also have added a source for the translator table. - Thanks. I saw that you had updated the article text to 'general' manager, which I think is a good characterization. The newspaper article calls him Executive Vice President of Broadcasting, but, that could be his title in 1979. So, leaving it as 'general' manager, might be alright. Do you want to modify the hook as well? It still reads 'owner'. Thanks. Ktin (talk) 04:34, 7 December 2021 (UTC)
- @Ktin: I'm actually not going to. He was the 50 percent owner in 1967 (p459). Sammi Brie (she/her • t • c) 06:22, 7 December 2021 (UTC)
- @Sammi Brie: Thanks for this note. That PDF is indeed a treasure trove. Based on what I see there, I think 50% share in the company should not qualify as an owner. Typically that is 100pc or at the minimum 51%. We could substitute it with 'station president' or something different. Otherwise this looks good to go. Ktin (talk) 18:05, 7 December 2021 (UTC)
- @Ktin: Worth noting the licensee at the time was Taylor Broadcasting Company... Sammi Brie (she/her • t • c) 18:45, 7 December 2021 (UTC)
- @Sammi Brie: I am updating this review with an 'again' for any other editor to weigh in with a second opinion. I think we should substitute the owner with a different word / phrase, despite the broadcasting company being named after them. Everything else looks good and this is good to go pending this owner substitution. Thanks. Ktin (talk) 18:52, 7 December 2021 (UTC)
- @Ktin: I'd be fine with "manager" too, but I think "owner" makes a stronger hook. Sammi Brie (she/her • t • c) 18:54, 7 December 2021 (UTC)
- @Sammi Brie:, I agree on the hook's impact being better as written. Was Taylor also a founder of the company / station? If so - can we check and substitute with founder for equivalent hookiness? Ktin (talk) 19:02, 7 December 2021 (UTC)
- @Ktin: https://worldradiohistory.com/Archive-Small-Market-Radio-Report/2003/SMN-2003-01-03.pdf#page=86 might help... Sammi Brie (she/her • t • c) 19:31, 7 December 2021 (UTC)
- @Sammi Brie:, thanks. I am good with 'founder' based on this one. Added ALT1. If you are good with it, I will mark as approved. Ktin (talk) 21:29, 7 December 2021 (UTC)

"the station's fortunes would take a hard crash little more than a month after signing on"
editSlightly odd for us to be making humorous puns like this in WP:WIKIVOICE, but hey ho, I'll not complain I guess! — Amakuru (talk) 13:40, 14 December 2021 (UTC)
