Comments
editThere was a seperate article at "Juan Almeida":
"Juan Almeida is a Cuban revolutionary. Originally a brick layer by trade, he joined Fidel Castro and participated in the failed attack on the Moncada Barracks. He led one of the fronts of rebels in 1958, during the Cuban Revolution. Half a century later he is still considered one of Castro's most loyal followers."
I will turn into a redirect, and incorporate anything that is verifiable into this article. -- Beardo 22:48, 23 September 2006 (UTC)
JFK
editWhat is the consensus on adding information on the coup between JFK & Almeida, would it be welcome in this article. Rambo's Revenge (talk) 15:47, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
- I hate it when causes I would otherwise support act all fringey and conspiracy theoristish. Not a RS.Simonm223 (talk) 13:31, 15 September 2009 (UTC)
Obituary
editThere's an obituary in The Independent that might be useful: Juan Almeida Bosque: Cuban vice-president who fought alongside Castro and Guevara --81.152.70.211 (talk) 20:17, 29 September 2009 (UTC)
Attributing the "No one surrenders" Quote
editIn Episodes of the Revolutionary War by Ernesto "Che" Guevara[1], Guevara describes how he hears the famous quote, "No, nobody surrenders here!" during the battle of Alegria De Pio, saying that it was said by Camilo Cienfuegos. Since this is a primary source I believe it takes precedence over the source that is there now (I believe its a BBC article?) that attributes the quote to Almeida.

Someone on his knees said we had better surrender and I heard a voice (later I learned it was Camilo Cienfuegos) shouting, "No, nobody surrenders here!
