When doing some reading about Barnett's UFC title reign, I came across this website: http://www.mmafighting.com/news/joshbarnett.html

A couple of questions:

1. Can anyone confirm the exact date that the UFC stripped Barnett of the title?

2. Does anyone have enough information to address the article on the above-mentioned website titled "Independent Drug Test Proves Josh Barnett’s Innocence"? Specifically, the article seems to make note of an additional positive drug test from 11/02/01.

fighting style

edit

isnt his fighting style pro wrestling? thats what he was billed at last affliction ppv. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.188.201.146 (talk) 21:33, 3 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

The fighter puts whatever they want in that section when they fill out the form. There is a "fighting style" section that they put on the card for Bruce Buffer to read. Jon Jones is a "whoopsie-do" fighter and Roy Nelson is a Kung-Fu fighter apparently. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.60.137.77 (talk) 22:08, 3 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Nick name

edit

Nick name is "The Baby Faced Assassin" (s. joshbarnett.tv). Could someone correct it? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.180.167.96 (talk) 08:50, 23 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Professional Wrestling

edit

There really should be a section about Barnett's pro wrestling career. He's been wrestling in Japan for years and has been back there wrestling again ever since his latest steroid suspension. In fact, he just one some promotion's world championship over there a week or so ago. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.120.87.68 (talk) 22:02, 10 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Why is the professional wrestling section listed under MMA Career? And to lead off the MMA Career with 3 dirty drug screens seems biased. Shouldn't it start off with his first run in the UFC and winning the HW title?AugustWest1980 (talk) 16:23, 29 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

I agree.

Should there be a (brief?) addition of him now working as an announcer on AXStv's airing of NJPW wrestling in the US?68.51.193.141 (talk) 02:03, 31 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Barnett's claimed additional wins

edit

Barnett's claim for additional wins that are not noted in normal fight databases was provided with a citation (his interview on Steve Austin's podcast).

Barnett's announced record by the UFC when he fought for the organization also reflected more wins than are documented by, eg, Sherdog.

Having fights that were not listed on Sherdog was a common occurrence in the early days of MMA.

I see no reason to delete the claim since it is provided with a citation to Barnett himself making the claim. Drickfire (talk) 15:17, 12 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
