The result of the move request was: moved. General consensus to move as well as John Warren (1874-1928) to John Warren (anatomist, born 1874). (closed by non-admin page mover) Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 01:57, 18 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

– Attracted here by the improper hyphenated date range disambiguator in John Warren (1874-1928), I have learned that John Warren (surgeon) was the father of John Collins Warren, grandfather of Jonathan Mason Warren, great-grandfather of John Collins Warren Jr., and great-great-grandfather of John Warren (1874-1928). Several of them were surgeons (maybe all of them), so "(surgeon)" is not sufficient. I'm not sure whether the professor of anatomy was a surgeon, but I suspect he was, and I suspect some of the surgeons could be considered professors of anatomy. The "Collins" middle name was shared as well. In fact, I have found no evidence that John Collins Warren Jr. is actually called "Jr." in sources (see this article about him, for example, which doesn't use "Jr."; neither does this). He could hypothetically be referred to as John Warren IV, as he was the fourth in the line. He was not the son of John Collins Warren; he was his grandson via Jonathan Mason Warren. Note that the Harvard source also refers to John Collins Warren Jr. as "J. Collins Warren", and his father as "J. Mason Warren". — BarrelProof (talk) 19:28, 10 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

I agree; that's better. — BarrelProof (talk) 19:52, 15 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
