George Spencer Phillips

This bibliography seems to suggest - without a great deal of certainty - that Dix and George Spencer Phillips were one and the same person. Is there any more information on that? If so, there are many more publications by Phillips, such as this. Google searches come up with the same idea, that Dix and Phillips were the same person. By the way, it seems a little unfair to describe him as an alcoholic in the opening sentence - per WP:OPENPARA. Ghmyrtle (talk) 09:50, 2 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

PPS: This (on p.166) says he died in November 1865 (7th, I think - not easy to read the scan) "in destitute circumstances" in Brooklyn, New York. Ghmyrtle (talk) 14:33, 2 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

The article says "John Dix or John Ross"; so why is it called "John Ross Dix"? Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 14:28, 2 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
