The result of the move request was: no consensus. I'll close this now as discussion died out a while ago. There is consensus that a better disambiguator ought be found but no consensus as to what it should be. Malcolmxl5 (talk) 21:13, 27 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

John Rolle (Parliamentarian)John Rolle (1598–1648) –. The current disambiguator is itself ambiguous. : John Rolle (disambiguation) lists 4 people of this name, all of whom were Members of Parliament in England in the 17th or 18th centuries. All of them were "parliamentarians", and while only this one can be properly-called a capital-P Parliamentarian (an opponent of the monarchy during the English Civil War), the use of a capital letter does not disambiguate with sufficient clarity for those not already familiar with the nuances of terminology of the civil war and the more general terminology. Disambiguation by vital dates leaves no ambiguity with no other John Rolles, and will help to reduce errors in disambiguation.

The page was moved on 16 July 2012‎ to John Rolle (1598–1648), but reverted on 27 July. I propose restoring the page to the title to which it was moved on 16 July. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 00:43, 11 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Oppose the suggested move, not to moving. - Per WP:QUALIFIER, we use a noun to disambiguate ("Years of birth and death are not normally used as disambiguators"), if further disambig is necessary then year of birth is usually sufficient. I would suggest we find a better way of disambiguating. Parlementarian does not seem to me to be a common disambiguator. Education does not equal common sense. 我不在乎 05:31, 11 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
