Aussie mayor?

What's up with this "close personal friend" of a mayor in Australia? How did it come about, and how did the mayor serve as inspiration for the Cliff character? It isn't anywhere that I can see on Google but this article. It reads like a joke on Gillis. --Dhartung | Talk 07:02, 19 April 2006 (UTC)

Toy Story 3

There is a contradiction between a sentence here and one in the article of Toy Story 3 regarding the attitudes of Tom Hanks and Tim Allen. The Toy Story 3 atricle states:

This turn of events was not greeted with enthusiasm by all, with Pixar regular John Ratzenberger going so far as to say he would not be involved without Pixar.[citation needed] Others, such as Tim Allen, the voice of Buzz Lightyear, indicated a willingness to return even if Pixar was not on board.

Whereas the John Ratzenberger article says:

It is presumable that he will indeed be cast, as Tom Hanks and Tim Allen had previously adopted this stance, but have since been confirmed as part of the cast since Pixar took over production.

Pixar roles

Deleted the references to Ratzenberger appearing in upcoming Pixar features, because we don't actually know if he'll be in them or not. Vidor (talk) 06:50, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

Added citation needed to being Pixar's "Good Luck Charm." Has anybody from Pixar actually been quoted as saying that? I know he's in all the Pixar movies and the media calls him the good luck charm but it seems it should actually come from Pixar to be included here. Cubbieco (talk) 18:37, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

What I'm curious about is why Ratzenberger has been in all of Pixar's feature films. Is there a source anywhere that indicates his casting? I know the Pixar-related section suggests that he is friends with a director, but it is offhandedly mentioned. The citation is all good and well, but Lasseter considering Ratzenberger "Pixar's good luck charm" is mentioned nowhere on this page, just in that citation. It would be informative to rework the section to include that citation, but even then I don't see how it would be entirely helpful.

Pixar cast Ratzenberger for Toy Story, then A Bug's Life. At what point was he considered their "lucky charm"? I can understand that after three or four hits that would be the consensus, but Pixar would have had to hire him for some particular reason those first two or three times to get anywhere near that conclusion. With one or two hits you can't conclude that a sole voice actor is the cause of your good fortune. It seems likely that there was an original reason for casting Ratzenberger which later on evolved into the "good luck" belief. Though I do admit maybe they just liked him. I know John Lasseter called him Pixar's good louck charm in the publicity material they were releaseing on the Cars website prior to the movies release. He pointed out that Ratzenberger had had at least a cameo role in every Pixar movie from Toy Story on at that point and that all the Pixar movies to that point had been #1 on opening weekend. -annonymous 6/25/2012 6:18 AM EST

How Successful?

"the 4th most successful actor of all time, as measured by a total box office of over $3,000,000,000."

Seems a pretty limited way of measuring an actor's success. Do talent, skill, popularity, count for nothing? I could list several hundred actors who I'm sure would be generally considered to be more successful, y'know, Marlon Brando, Meryl Streep, Sir Lawrence Olivier, Jack Nicolson..... 92.234.49.13 (talk) 17:45, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
