Nationality
editWhy is this guy's nationality listed as English when he's British? Wattersd 17:05, 7 December 2005 (UTC)
- England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are regarded as separate nations in many sports, snooker being one of them. One reason for this is that so many of the top snooker players are from the UK. --Auximines 18:07, 7 December 2005 (UTC)
- England's subjugation by Scotland does not mean it is not a nation, just as Poland's subjugation by Russia in the 19th century did not mean that Poland was not a nation at that time. Alex Middleton (talk) 19:18, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
Unsourced info
editI've removed or hidden the following info from the articles as I was unable to verify it. Please add back in if a reliable source can be found. Regards, BennyOnTheLoose (talk) 17:55, 26 June 2020 (UTC)
- Career Prize money (Possibly £11,401)
- High break: Article said 130 (1975 Canadian Open); Kobylecky source says Pulman had a 133 break in the 1953 world semi-final.
- Century breaks: Kobylecky source lists 13 centuries at the World Championship.
- "He remained the lead commentator for ITV until the sport was dropped by the channel in 1992."
GOCE copy edit
edit@BennyOnTheLoose: I have completed my copy edit. The prose is in good shape, but I have a few comments:
- Is there anything more about his personal life other than his early childhood and divorce? If so, that information should be added or this won't pass the comprehensiveness criterion of FA.
- Titles in citations require consistent capitalization per MOS:CONFORMTITLE. I leave the choice of capitalization scheme to you.
- Some of the book cites use and others do not. For consistency of citation style, I would switch those that do not to using .
- I cannot find this source: "The Complete International Directory of Snooker Players – 1927 to 2018". Neither the ISBN nor its title return any hits.
- "Pulman had been touring snooker clubs as promotional work for the tobacco brand John Player" - I left a {{when}} tag on this.

Many thanks for that, voorts. I'll certainly address those points before making a FAC nomination. The Complete International Directory of Snooker Players – 1927 to 2018 is effectively a WP:SELFPUBLISHed source that used to be available via Snooker Scene, but I think I have a good case that work by Kobylecky is acceptable as an SPS. I might look at alternative sources anyway, to avoid the need to discuss it. I'll also probably change to sfn references for the books, as this looks tider IMO.
