John C. vs. John G.?

edit

This article (on John G. McCullough) says he was Attorney General of California from 1863 to 1867. But the state's official list gives a John C. McCullough as Attorney General during that time. Now that's a common typo/OCR error, but more problematically, the bio blurb they give doesn't match---the attorney-general John C. McCullough is said to have died in 1920 in Los Angeles, while the John G. McCullough that's the subject of this article is said to have died in 1915 in New York City. Is this article conflating the biography of a different John McCullough? --Delirium (talk) 01:55, 31 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
