Please note: Bright is certainly a notable biblical scholar, he returns thousands of hits on Google and is constantly being referenced in scholarly and non-scholarly works. Unfortunately I can't find out a lot about his life - I'm not even sure of the year of his death. So the article needs attention. PiCo10:44, 15 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
I don't know if it's useful, but a quote from John Bright, The Authority of the Old Testament (Nashville: Abingdon, 1967) regarding Leviticus 25: "the regulations described therein are obviously so inapplicable to the modern situation that a preacher might be pardoned if he told himself that the passage contains no relevant message for his people whatever." I wonder if the quote continues and he is just setting up that position to refute it. 71.41.210.146 (talk) 07:24, 14 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
