Jalisco's complex borders - there should be some information

edit

This article should mention something about Jalisco's complicated borders. I couldn't find any source (in English) on why the state's borders (or generally the northern border) is so strange. Anyone know why? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.253.118.137 (talk) 17:24, 1 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Tlajomulco not part of Guadalajara

edit

Tlajomulco is not yet part of the Guadalajara metro area, trust me, i live here. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jazzmann (talkcontribs) 04:07, 30 January 2005

Tlajomulco was considered in the Greater Guadalajara area due to have the Guadalajara Airport and several people from the towns included in that municipality work in Guadalajara or other cities of the Metropolitan area. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.99.166.84 (talk) 20:53, 21 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Resturant!

edit

Jalisco has its own resturant in Newburgh, IN. Visit sometime. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.251.255.229 (talk) 04:02, 29 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

I hate to break it to you, but there are probably thousands of Jalisco Restaurants in fine communities all over the United States. See Google results here. Fredsmith2 (talk) 08:19, 29 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Largest city criteria

edit

What is the criteria to determine what a "largest city" is? Is it population? Area? This is a Mexican government website with information about Mascota, Jalisco. [1] I believe Guadalajara or even Zapopan (or the entire metropolitan area of Guadalajara) should be put instead. --189.192.108.84 (talk) 04:15, 20 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Demographic information and Mestizos

edit

I noticed that the past couple of edits to this page had both added and deleted what was, in my opinion, valuable information, so I consolidated all of it in the best way that I could. This involved adding a new section to the article, but I think it's worthwhile. I am, however, very open to discussion about it.  :) Incidentally, regardless of whether my edits are kept, the article is in pretty serious need of sourcing. If anyone has good sources for the information, it'd be great if you could insert them. -- edi (talk) 21:56, 22 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Made some changes in Mariachi

edit

Christ, someone butchered it. Spelled "that" with an e, put spanish words (this is the english branch of Wikipedia), and some typos. Plus, invaluable information. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.178.46.246 (talk) 04:22, 8 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Native Huichol name(s)

edit

There are three different spellings given for the name that the Huichol people call themselves, and they were separate from each other in the text (meaning that they were added at different times by different editors, and the grammatical description of the alternatives was awkward at best). I used one of them more or less randomly and left the other two as an invisible comment. If anyone knows whether these are errors or true alternate spellings or what, you might want to fix that. Thanks! :) -- edi(talk) 19:39, 22 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Removed random word in municipalities list

edit

In the section Altos Norte of the municipalities list found a strange name included between the eight municipalities forming the section Altos Norte, after some investigation I left to the conclusion that the municipality was not exist and probably was a random vandal act. I deleted the word. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.99.166.84 (talk) 20:55, 21 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

edit

Going back and forth with an anonymous editor the last few days. Would like that editor to please explain the encyclopedic value of the link that's been repeatedly inserted into the external links section. Haven't seen any comments from the user, even in the edit summary, and the content on the website appears to be little to none. What I see there is a few details about a few nightclubs / bars with contact numbers, and some very sparse zoo, festival, and volcano information. This link is not from a recognizable authority and has no value here on the encyclopedia, and I've been treating its insertion as spam, but am engaging the editor here anyway.
