editAt first I thought it was a good idea for user Mb93j to create this page, but now I'm wondering if it is essentially the same as the First Coast, making it redundant? Kevinsnow 16:30, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
- No, Baker County is in the Jax Metro area, while it isn't in the First Coast. Also, Flagler County is in the First Coast but is closer to Daytona. Mike H. I did "That's hot" first! 01:29, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
I cannot understand why the Jacksonville Metropolitan Area includes five counties! That isn't correct. The five counties are not formally joined politically, economically or commercially. The five have their own governments, departments of public safety, their own commerical drivers and financial focus. 68.218.155.46 11:43, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
- Metropolitan Statistical Areas are defined by the Office of Management and Budget based on economic factors. They are designed to represent large areas that functio as a single business market. -- Donald Albury 23:21, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
Shortening 'major roads' section
editI'm going to shorten the details of the routes because it's too much. If people want to learn more, they can go to the transportation page. --MPQzy (talk) 23:44, 9 July 2011 (UTC)

Jacksonville metropolitan area → Greater Jacksonville – This page needs to be moved because Greater Jacksonville is a more common name for the area. --MPQzy (talk) 15:32, 19 August 2011 (UTC)
- Oppose, for consistency with other metro areas and because the article specifically describes the official U.S. government definition of the area (whereas "Greater Jacksonville" may be less well defined in the eyes of its residents). Powers T 13:31, 20 August 2011 (UTC)

Name
editI reverted a move of this article to Jacksonville, Florida metropolitan area. First, if "Jacksonville metropolitan area" remains a redirect, the "Florida" is just verbiage unnecessary for disambiguation. Second, this appears to be the clear primary topic of the two articles. The only other ambiguous article can now be found easily through the hat note.--Cúchullain t/c 03:30, 11 April 2013 (UTC)
- To this point, the Florida metro was viewed 1960 times in the last 30 days, compared to only 239 for the North Carolina metro. The latter article may be low since I just added the hat note a few days ago, but at any rate it suggests the Florida article is easily more prominent in this TWODABS situation.--Cúchullain t/c 03:36, 11 April 2013 (UTC)
