Current Event
editIt looks like there is a Jökulhlaup currently happening at the Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau, AK. Figured it may be interesting to you and possibly for this wiki?. It's only been happening since 2011. http://water.weather.gov/ahps2/hydrograph.php?wfo=pajk&gage=jsba2&prob_type=stage http://www.ktoo.org/2014/06/28/always-stay-back-face-mendenhall-glacier/
Sub-glacial
editI am not convinced that jökulhlaups are generally regarded as solely sub-glacial. Glacial lake outburst floods (GLOFs) are also refered to as jökulhlaups and this is reflected in pages on the University of Icelands' website as well as scientific articles. I have edited the article to reflect thisIabrown (talk) 12:58, 22 November 2009 (UTC)
