Isurus Glaucus
editIsn't there another species of mako called Isurus glaucus? I thought there was. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.97.102.214 (talk • contribs)
- There used to be but it is now called Isurus oxyrinchus, i.e. short fin mako. --Stefan talk 00:34, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
Skin
editI think I heard somewhere that their skin has a special texture and helps them move fast in the water. 72.155.50.42 (talk) 00:10, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
True so does there slender body typeMetalshark02 (talk) 22:07, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
Picture
editI think it would be better to find pictures with living specimens instead of the dead sharks. Can someone modify it?Citizen of the USA (talk) 01:35, 2 November 2010 (UTC)
removing Behavior section
editThe Behavior section is just an advertisement for a TV stunt conducted by Discovery Channel. It does not give any useful information at all about the normal behavior of these animals. The section is already tagged for its lack of supporting references; since the section as it exists now would be inappropriate even if it did contain references, I am going to remove it.--Jim10701 (talk) 01:20, 28 June 2011 (UTC)
World Record Shark caught
editThere was a world-record mako shark caught this week. Someone posted about it on this page. I didn't feel it fit (probably should be somewhere in the shortfin mako shark page, if anywhere), but here is the sentence I removed from the article: Jaardon (talk) 05:21, 6 June 2013 (UTC)
- On June 3, 2013, Jason Johnson from Mesquite, Texas caught an 11-foot-long mako shark, weighing in at 1,323.5 pounds off Huntington Beach, California, which could be a world record.[1]
- Moved to right place, thanks. Kennvido (talk) 06:06, 6 June 2013 (UTC)
