This page is missing any reference to Dante's Inferno, somebody should probably add that...

Inferno an absinth based cocktail?

Original to Christianity or pagan in origin (like Hades)?

The "infernus" of early Christian Latin, was that term used by pagan Romans to mean the abode of the dead? Or is it a phrasing original to Christianity? When Latin documents from the pre-schism church say "infernus," what do the Greek-language texts say? Gehenna? Hades? Jonathan Tweet 01:32, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

Actually, the link is for subscribers only, so I can't read it. Have you got another reliable source for this fact? StAnselm (talk) 11:51, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
