Talk:Imperial Village

Alsace?

edit

The article states "The Imperial Villages were all located in southern and western Alsace. It then lists "Gochsheim, Sennfeld, the Free Men of Leutkirche Heide, Soden and Sulzbach". All five links lead to places which are not in Alsace. Something is clearly wrong. Maproom (talk) 23:30, 19 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Capitalization of imperial village

edit

Is there any reason why imperial village, imperial valley, etc. are capitalized in the body text of the article? They're not capitalized in the sources, e.g. here. Orange Suede Sofa (talk) 00:17, 24 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

They should be de-capitalized. IMO the reason they are capitalized is that there is a strong temptation to capitalize "imperial" when it is, in effect, the equivalent of terms like "French" and "Russian" and not "royal". Srnec (talk) 19:13, 26 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. Then going with the sources, I'll start working on it. List of Imperial Villages will need similar treatment as well. Orange Suede Sofa (talk) 19:34, 27 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
I went ahead and changed the body text in this article and the associated list article. The next task will be renaming the page to sentence case per MOS:AT, which I won't have time to do today. Orange Suede Sofa (talk) 20:12, 27 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
