Merger proposal

edit

I propose to merge the following pages into Idaho Department of Correction: South Boise Prison Complex, South Idaho Correctional Institution, Idaho State Correctional Institution, Idaho Maximum Security Institution, South Boise Women's Correctional Center, Idaho Correctional Center, Idaho Correctional Institution- Orofino, Pocatello Women's Correctional Center, St. Anthony Work Camp. Each of these pages includes one or two sentences of text and they are hardly notable on their own. They will be served better as sections in Idaho Department of Correction --Muhandes (talk) 14:26, 7 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

I briefly looked at the articles and concur. Actually, to be merged would make sense. The several might make a decent article while separate they are lacking. Along with some editing to correct possible direct copying such as; "The Department handles adult felons sentenced by the courts. Our felon caseload can be broken down into four categories:" The use of the word "our" suggest the information was added by 1)- An employee, 2)- A person from Idaho, 3)- Copied from another article. Reflist Edits

edit

I'm cleaning up outdated links for the Idaho Department of Correction. There are some that need to be fixed in the "Reference" section of this page but it is a protected Reflist. How do I go about getting that information updated? Rshaber (talk) 20:31, 13 June 2011 (UTC)rhReply

Please don't add external links against the policy for external links, since Wikipedia is not a repository of links. As for correcting references, by all means go ahead and do that, they are used in the article body. You will also want to cite sources for the other additions you made, see this guideline. --Muhandes (talk) 07:33, 14 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the tips - hopefully I got it right this time. There will likely be more updates in the near future as directed by management but the most important thing was to correct the broken links. Rshaber (talk) 15:46, 14 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
I didn't check it all but it seems well done. --Muhandes (talk) 15:52, 14 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

intro section

edit

I am of the opinion that intro sections should be brief. This intro includes information which might be considered extra, such as the Felon caseload part. I suggest this be moved to a new section.FoCuSandLeArN (talk) 21:48, 3 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
