Removal of unsourced content

edit

I have reverted the additon of unsource material[1] on the grounds that this information cannot be verified. Please discuss here before adding unsourced content. This is no way a criticism of the IDA's extraordinary achievement in attracting Inward investment. --Gavin Collins (talk) 16:46, 3 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Article improved in recent years, but needs more, especially on clients / successes

edit

A range of hands, notably semi-retired BritishFinance, have done good work, but the article still needs more on structural history, IDA clients over the decades, the industrial estates and business parks, numbers employed, historic issues and how they were dealt with, governance and operations, etc. The IDA in various forms has been critical to Irish development, and deserves a little more coverage, and some images too.SeoR (talk) 13:38, 16 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

Good point. I feel this does need an upgrade; surprised there is no independent history of the IDA written by anybody that could be a core source? Might come back to it when the drama has dissipated (and I have the time). Britishfinance (talk) 10:49, 26 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

Criticisms section is sorely lacking

edit

I find it very strange that there's a Criticisms section in this article, but no mention is made of the fact that the IDA funds truly awful companies like Citigroup. This section as it currently exists is treating the IDA with kid gloves. Spontaneously (talk) 17:43, 15 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Reasoned criticisms from reputable sources can be included. But that would not normally include criticism due to third party companies which just happen to be IDA clients. It’s a development agency, it is not responsible for the issues of the banks, or any other type of investor in Irish operations. SeoR (talk) 20:00, 15 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
