"Hurt"

edit

Could "Hurt" be defined as a promotional single? She did perform it on X Factor and RVP as part of promotion for the EP. Aaron You Da One 11:06, 24 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

It doesn't have one. It's just a digital release. Pancake (talk) 17:45, 25 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

  • The EP served as something to bridge the gap for her fans whilst she finishes recording for her third studio album, Glassheart (2012). This is not an issue at the moment, but when "Glassheart" is released, make sure you change it to the past tense
    Thanks. Aaron You Da One
  • The EP peaked at number seven in Scotland, number eight in the United Kingdom and number 15 in Ireland on those countries album charts. Not necessary to include "on those countries album charts"
It is, as it shows that it was a chart it charted on. A song doesn't chart in a country, it charts on that countries chart. Aaron You Da One 23:58, 19 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Background and development

  • Hurt: The EP consists of three covers: "Hurt" by Nine Inch Nails; "Iris" by the Goo Goo Dolls and "Colorblind" by Counting Crows.[8] The EP was produced by Smith.[9] Comma is needed after "Nine Inch Nails" and not a semicolon; Combine two sentences into one

  • The EP was only made available to purchase digitally. It was released in Canada, Ireland and the United Kingdom on 9 December 2011, to dowload via iTunes.[11][12][13] Combine two sentences into one for better

Actually the article don't mention that the EP was released only as a digital version — Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.5.15.170 (talk) 00:40, 19 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

After thoroughly reviewing this article, I have decided to put the article on hold. There are some minor prose issues and reference formatting errors that are keeping this article from reaching good article status. I will give you the general seven days to fix these mistakes and/or address points you believe do not concern the good article criteria. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Since all of the issues have been addressed, I feel confident passing this article. Congratulations and keep up the good work you have produced. Rp0211 (talk2me) 02:55, 20 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Chronology

edit

According to The Official Charts Company, EPs can chart on either the singles chart or the album's chart, depeding on their length and size. Effectively Hurt: The EP was considered as a single because it charted on the singles chart. Should it not then be removed from the album chronology in the infobox, and should it not also be listed as a single in the discography? — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 21:27, 12 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

I'm not sure :-/. AARONTALK 23:13, 12 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
Since it charted as a single, I'd say yes. It's a bit weird, but that's how it is. Zac  02:49, 13 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
It charted on the singles chart, as all songs do, but it wasn't actually released as a single. "Hurt" was just the song she performed to promote it. AARONTALK 08:31, 13 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
The EP itself charted on the singles chart, not the song "Hurt" — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 17:36, 16 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
Per UK chart rules listed here (pdf will download upon being clicked) page 11 it says a CD/Digital release with a maximum of four song titles and a maximum length of 25 minutes is classified a single and would be eligable to chart on the UK Singles chart. While I agree that Leona's promoted the EP with Hurt, she also named the EP Hurt. Its primary release was digital but its individual tracks are ineligable to chart because the entire release is classified as a single. Otherwise Hurt: The EP would chart on the album's chart but the song "Hurt" would have charted on the singles chart. — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 17:35, 16 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
How about using longtype and doing "EP / single" or "Single / EP"? Zac  17:47, 16 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
It was called Hurt: The EP, so it is still an EP template that should be used IMO. How about removing Hurt: The EP from all info box chronologies and replacing it with "Hurt" instead? AARONTALK 19:05, 16 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
I accept that that is an EP but it is an EP Single not an EP Album. Hurt: The EP = EP single, The Fame Monster = EP album. Hope that's cleared things up? =\ Judging by the latter, we could probably just leave it as EP. — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 23:50, 16 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Confused

edit

Since the ep contains three covers by three alternative artists, I didn't hear rock music in her take on the songs cause there's no heavy stuff and its basically turned into piano like ballads. I was going to remove it but saw a message saying don't add rock without a reliable source. Should we get rid of it now?72.64.207.76 (talk) 14:44, 7 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

Rock music is sourced as her's a still rock interpretations. Thanks.  — Calvin999 15:54, 7 June 2015 (UTC)Reply
