Talk:Hookah lounge

Latest comment: 1 year ago by Toddcs in topic Why two articles?

I flagged the history section for not citing sources, especially since it is making value judgments about the quality of hookahs, styles which are typical, etc. These are claims which need citations. Zminer (talk) 01:36, 2 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

The external links in the Characteristics section appear to be blatant commercial placement rather than anything legitimately informative. A brief description of the terms would be far more informative than the site linked which is simply a site to purchase the items. I'm a bit new to this so I'm hesitant to change it myself, but it seems to me that this is exactly what we don't want to see wikipedia pages turn into. Most bars in the U.S. require patrons to be at least 14 years of age to smoke hookah and 18 years of age to purchase (exceptions are Utah, Arizona and New York).

I believe most hookah bars you have to be 18 to smoke due to tobacco laws (19 in some states) --Djcam (talk) 02:53, 22 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

The US part of this reads like a giant advert for one particular guy's business. Someone needs to rewrite it and throw most of it out. 172.91.69.76 (talk) 01:39, 20 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Also, the state-by-state age restrictions is very likely incorrect now that about a quarter of the states passed new tobacco laws. I am having trouble finding the laws for my own state, let alone 12 others. Psu256 (talk) 15:11, 24 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

"Typically a disposable mouthpiece is provided for each user..."

edit

Of the 5 hookah bars I've been to, none of them have given more than 1 mouth piece (unless we ask for more). So how valid is this statement? How many do the hookah bars you've been to give initially?

One mouthpiece per person. 24.240.38.84 (talk) 08:49, 27 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Merge Hookah Lounge Exemptions and Restrictions into Hookah lounge

edit

Somebody proposed merging these two articles with tags, but no discussion was opened. I would support the merge - there's no reason for separating content between the two articles. PKT(alk) 01:28, 10 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

This Article is a mess

This article has so many weasel words and subjective opinions in it. Please help clean it up. --Have a great day , Sanjev Rajaram (talk) 03:31, 14 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

exceptions to smoking age are outdated

edit

Age to purchase and consume tobacco products is now 21+ across the entire United States. I am not aware of any exceptions for hookah products. 153.104.35.255 (talk) 14:45, 11 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Why two articles?

edit

There appears to be a great deal of overlap between this article and the Hookah article. Much of what appears here seems to belong there instead. Quite arguably, the entire content of this article should be moved into that one, with any duplicate coverage eliminated. And then this article should be deleted.
